Today, Microsoft has announced that Forza Horizon 3, the latest entry in their flagship racing franchise, has sold 2.5 million copies. Forza Horizon 3 was released on Xbox One and PC in September of last year.
In addition to the healthy sales of Forza Horizon 3, Microsoft added that as of December 2016, the entire Forza franchise has made more than $1 billion in retail sales. That’s certainly nothing to scoff at, but keep in mind that their Halo franchise is still the one to beat at more than $5 billion in revenue as of November 2015. Insane.
If you’re interested in joining the Forza community, don’t have any fears about a lack of competition. In the same report, Microsoft also stated that the Forza online community has been netting about 3 million players every month.
Congratulations on a healthy franchise and building a strong community, Microsoft. We expect Forza 7 to drop this year if they keep up with the annual releases. Any bids?
